As an affiliate marketer it’s NOT my job to “hard sell” products and services, my job is more subtle. My job is to use and understand how the products work, then share that knowlege with my readers.
I give honest reviews of the products (what I call “warts and all” reviews), then I provide links to the “hard sell” page if you decide if you want to find out more.
That’s what pre-selling is all about, telling the reader about the product, showing them some real-world uses for the product then giving them the opportunity to learn more. In a word it’s about warming them up to the product or service.
I learned about preselling from an ebook called “Make Your Content PREsell”. This ebook went on to become the Bible of preselling. Ken Envoy created it and it’s really the definitive work on the subject, thousands of copies were sold, but now you can download, the exact same ebook that I paid for —absolutely FREE.
