OUCH I’ve been tagged…
My friend Bonnie from the ASC forums, tagged me on Monday, now it seems I have to write a post listing five reasons why I blog (thanks Bonnie, always like it when people give me additional work to do
– just kidding, I’m honored you even thought of me).
Well anyway here are my five reasons for blogging.
1) It’s quick and easy! I’ve been developing websites for going on ten years now (Man! Someone’s getting old!), when I finally started using blogs as opposed to “hand-crafting” each webpage, it truly opened a whole new world for me. It’s taken me a while to move from the more formal “write a webpage” mentality to the “make a couple of quick posts” idea of web building and I certainly haven’t come close to anything even remotely related to mastery of the art, but this whole process of being able to get a quick thought out there, without having to tinker around with HTML code is great.
2) Blogging helps to organize more thoughts more thoroughly. One of the amazing things about Blogging is that a simple little idea, once posted, can take on a life of its own. Within minutes of being posted, traffic, spurred on by your RSS feed, can start hitting your site – people around the world can see and comment on what you’ve just written. Write a good post and before you know it you can have bloggers around the globe talking about what you’ve written.
3) I blog, therefore I am! Regardless of the quality of a blog – once you’ve made your first blog post – you’re immortal. Your work, thoughts, ideas will exist in cyberspace –somewhere– and will probably stay there for as long as there is a cyberspace.
4) It’s just cool! I’m a portly middle-aged fellow who came of age during the eighties (the days of big hair and mullets), I don’t often get the chance to be cool anymore. However, most of my friends have never even read a blog page, let alone created and posted to one. My Blogging keeps my friends thinking I’m young and hip
.
5) To Make a living… Yep, I said it, I’m a sell out. Every word I write is designed to hypnotically transform you into a buyer of whatever it is I’m selling at the time —Hey, I need to support my starbucks habit, ya know!
Hey, that was fun, I’m glad Bonnie tagged me. Now I have to return the favor to five more people, Let see…
