Latent Semantic Indexing
Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a complicated mathematical formula that is used to help determine context and help to better understand what something (in this case a webpage) is describing. The search engines (especially Google) are now starting to use this formula in their search algorithms. This brief four minute video does an excellent job of explaining LSI in terms that we regular folk can understand. Have a look, it’s not technical at all, and it will give you a good understanding of this important concept.
