Anthony Fallon is a friend of mine. I know him from the Authority Site Center forums. Anthony published a post last week about the current state of SEO which he titled “SEO Mind Crime”. The following day, this post went on to prove what the membership of ASC has known all along…
That it is possible to rank well in the search engines without the use of expensive SEO’s. Here’s the story AND the proof:
It seems that Anthony had met with a client the previous day who told him he had received a proposal from an SEO company that would guarantee him top placement in Google for three years …for a mere $29,000 US. Well, Anthony’s been around for a while and knows that no-one can guarantee ANYTHING about the search engines! So what may have seemed like a reasonable proposal (albeit an expensive one), was really what Anthony would go on to call another instance of “SEO Mind Crime”.
That’s all well and good but the real mind boggling part came the VERY NEXT DAY. It turns out that Anthony’s post was picked up by Google immediately and within 24 hours, was ranking in the top Five for the term “SEO Mind Crime”.
Now I’ve been building websites and trying to rank well in the search engines since 1999. In my time on the web however, I’ve never seen any other white hat technique that provided such stunning results as we (the ASC members) see virtually everyday with virtually every post we make.
