I purchased AmazonHunter today and gave it a test drive. Here’s what I think. First, Amazon Hunter was designed as a software companion for the popular Day Job Killer ebook. If you haven’t read DayJob killer the basic gist of it is to use PPC to promote specific high-ticket Amazon products. I won’t go into the whole process here, but this software helps you select products that are most likely to be good sellers with little and in many cases no competition.

So your first question is probably
—Do I Need To Purchase Day Job Killer To Use This Product?
—The Answer is NO! This is an excellent stand-alone product that you can use all by itself to find good products to promote either via PPC or with some sort of organic SEO methods.

Here’s what it does…

Amazon Hunter searches Amazon for products that are NOT being promoted with Google Adwords, you simply enter a few variables like the category you want it to search, the minimum and maximum price, and optionally a keyphrase. Then you select your target country (US, Germany, UK). Hit “Start” and the software does its thing. After a few moments, depending on the size of the category, you’ll be presented with a listing of products, you can browse the list and click through to the Amazon product pages if you wish.

Now here’s where it gets fun. Next you need to have a look at the competition for the product list. Click on the “Check Competition” start button and relax, a few moments later (again this depends on the number of products you’re looking at) the number of Google Adwords ads for each product will be filled in. From there it’s really just a matter of selecting those that have little or no competition and create your ad groups.

A very cool feature of the software is that build into is the ability to search three different Amazon – US, UK and Germany. As was described in DayJob Killer, the US Market is over exploited for pretty much every product, but other countries can have significantly less competition. That’s where this feature comes in very handy .

Now, for another really powerful feature, once you’ve selected your products you can convert them directly into an adwords campaign, using the free download “Google Adwords Editor”, Amazon Hunter has built-in hooks to this program so you can do two quick copy/paste functions and you’ll have laser targeted Adwords ads live on Google.

Now, earlier I mentioned that you can search three different country specific Amazon’s well, Amazon hunter automatically generates the appropriate ads in the correct language for you. For example, I created a German ad in about fifteen minutes – I don’t know the German language, but Amazon Hunter does and it created a very simple version for me that includes my keyphrase, the product amount, a call to action and –of course–, my unique affiliate link already imbedded.

Two additional notes… Amazon uses separate affiliate programs for each of the three countries that Amazon Hunter targets –You’ll need to create a separate affiliate account for each —one if you decide to prospect outside of your geographic area.

And lastly, remember to specify the country and language you’re targeting in your Google Adwords. No point in sending a German ad to the American Google.

The Bottom Link — So am I making money?

Well, I just started using the product today (April 10, 2007), so I don’t have any results yet, but remember, these ads are extremely specific so they get very few clicks – however, the clicks they do get are laser targeted. With AmazonHunter, You can set up hundreds such ads for hundreds of different products very quickly. Remember it’s all automated and with PPC you only pay when someone actually clicks on your ad. So Go For It!
