I purchased Affiliate Outline this morning and gave it a quick read. Here’s my thoughts:

Written by Affiliate Marketing expert, Tim Schroeder, this 63 page ebook is an excellent crash course on getting started in the affiliate marketing world. Tim covers everything from the very basics, like what is “CPM” and what does “PPC” mean. To More advanced topics like using Google Adwords to get instant targeted traffic to your site. The ebook is a fast read, that will get you up to speed with the how-to’s and what-fors of affiliate marketing. The book describes realistic approaches to making an online income. It’s not the “get rich quick” mentality that we see in so many informational products online.

My recommendation: If you’re looking to get involved in the world of Affiliate Marketing and know little or nothing about the business then this ebook would be a valuable addition to your library, in fact – it would probably be the only ebook you’d need for quite a while. On the other hand, if you’ve already made some successful affiliate sales, and understand the concepts of finding a niche and finding and joining complementary affiliate programs, then you’ve probably already learned everything this ebook teaches. In a nutshell, Schroeder has compiled and organized a lot of good information – information that is probably available elsewhere, but he’s put it into a neat little package, that we can consume in a single evening as opposed to finding out through trial and error over many months. It’s a great jump-start to your affiliate business.

Pros: Excellent guide for Newbie’s! Virtually everything you need to know to start earning money is covered – plus some more advanced techniques are covered.

Cons: Very little is explained about designing and building your website – the entire sections consists of two short paragraphs, the ebook offers only a link to Dreamweaver and a suggestion to “purchase one of those For Dummies… books”. While a full blown HTML course would have been beyond the scope of the ebook, I think more information about blogs, templates etc… would have better served the reader.

The bonuses: You get a neat little build-your-own squeeze page template. Not very well documented but with a little playing around, you should be able to figure it out. Also, you get a word document entitled “The Golden Bum Marketing Secrets to Instant Cash” —Good information here about article marketing and creating your own informational products. (Note, I like both of these bonuses – I believe they’re for more advanced users. Get your feet wet using the information in the ebook first, and then start playing with the bonuses.)
